University of Zakho Delegation Joins the Final Conference of TeachersMOD International Project

On December 16-18, 2024, a delegation from the University of Zakho participated in the final conference of the international project TeachersMOD at Raparin University and Salahaddin University.

The project is a collaborative initiative involving five universities from the Kurdistan Region, three European universities, and the Italian organization (UNIMED). The program's main goal is to enhance the education systems of the basic education colleges in the Kurdistan Region, alongside implementing various joint tasks with European universities aimed at improving the pedagogical skills of teacher at basic education colleges and aligning educational outcomes with market demands. Furthermore, several recommendations were made to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, such as expanding private education subjects within the pedagogical centers of the Kurdistan Region.

Representatives from both the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Ministry of Education expressed their appreciation for the international programs aimed at advancing the quality of higher education in the Kurdistan Region.

The delegation of the University of Zakho actively participated in several panels and presented seminars. At Raparin University, the Vice President for Students Affairs, Dr. Ramadhan J. Mstafa, who participated as a representative of the pedagogy center, highlighted the significance of private education topics within pedagogical centers.Moreover, at Salahaddin University, Dr. Nizar I. Ali, Director of the International Relation Affairs, participated in a panel focusing on the role of the University of Zakho in the TeachersMOD project. This was followed by two seminars titled "Updating Curriculum Subjects" and "Organizing Job Fairs for Students." Additionally, a seminar was presented by Mr. Rifat S. Salih, Head of the English Language Department at the College of Basic Education.
